the Cognitive Principle that human cognition tends to be geared to the maximization of relevance; and the Communicative Principle that every act of ostensive communication communicates a presumption of its own optimal relevance. It therefore comes to the understanding that RT is not just the borrowing from Cooperative Principle, but rather it is a complementation and choosing process. The Maxim of Relation, with its constructive trend, tends to be abstract. Onthe other hand, starting from the human congnition perspective, RT has made a detailed and reliable explanation for the principle of relevance, overcoming the weak points in the Cooperative Principle. RT till now still can not take the place of Cooperative Principle, but it has gradually gained a place in the Western translation studies field and aroused more and more attention from translation scholars, with the effort spared by its initiators Sperber and Wilson, together with their followers Blakemore，Blass，Gutt.
