The greatest monster hunter of them all has his work cut out for him as he tracks down three deadly foes in this action-adventure saga. Gabriel Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) is a man who has dedicated his life to battling evil forces who exist outside the bounds of nature; Van Helsing's work has not always made him friends, and a false accusation of murder still trails him. But when he's summoned to Transylvania at the behest of Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale), whose family has been fighting supernatural beings for generations, Van Helsing wastes no time answering her call. During the late 19th century Dr. Frankenstein works with Count Dracula to bring the dead back to life. In doing so he creates Frankenstein's Monster. Van Helsing discovers that Dracula cannot be killed by the 'conventional' methods of disposing of a vampire, and also that Dracula knows of him. Velkan falls under the curse when he's bitten by one of Dracula's previous wolves while protecting his sister Anna from it. He was later killed by the monster hunter Van Helsing, but not before biting him, giving him the power to finally kill Dracula. Van Helsing finally kills Dracula in a showdown during the next full moon.Anna injects Van Helsing with the antidote to the werewolf curse, which Dracula keeps in his castle to protect himself, and Van Helsing reverts to a human after unwittingly killing Anna. Frankenstein's monster sails off into the sunset. Van Helsing burns Anna's body in a funeral pyre, and sees a vision of her entering Paradise with her ancestors.

Van Helsing takes place in the late 19th Century, where monster hunter Gabriel Van Helsing (Jackman, X-Men) takes a trip to Transylvania to put an end to the menace that is Dracula (Roxburgh, Moulin Rouge!). Along the way, Van Helsing befriends the lovely vampire hunter, Anna Valerious (Beckinsale, Underworld), who joins forces with him in an effort to keep Dracula from capturing Frankenstein's monster to use in the hatching his minions of baby vampires.

Hugh Jackman plays the mysterious Gabriel Van Helsing and Kate Beckinsale plays Princess Anna Valerious, the last member of the royal family in Transylvania. The movie is set near the end of the 19th century with Van Helsing working for a secret holy organization that has been defeating evil creatures all over the world for centuries. Van Helsing has been ordered to capture or kill Mr. Hyde. He finds Mr. Hyde and the battle is on. His next mission is to go to Transylvania and kill the vampire, Count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh). Van Helsing cannot remember his past, but all roads lead to Transylvania. When he first arrives in town, the town's people want to kill him, until Dracula's three wives come to town for lunch. Van Helsing joins forces with Anna to go after Dracula. Anna's family has tried everything to kill Dracula for over 400 years.
