中国国务院总理温家宝当地时间9月21日晚上8点在纽约会见当地华人华侨、留学生代表和中资机构时谈到,最近日方扣留我在钓鱼岛捕鱼的船只和船员,至今不释放船长并试图用日本国内法处置该事件,这是非法和无理的,极大地伤害了船员和他们的家属,也激起了国内外中华儿女强烈的愤慨.
温家宝说：“我方多次义正言辞的向日方提出交涉,但日方置若罔闻.在这种情况下,我们不得不采取必要的反制措施.在这里我强烈敦促日方政府立即无条件释放中国船长.”
温总理表示,钓鱼岛是中国神圣的领土.他指出如果日本一意孤行,中方将会采取进一步行动,由此造成的一切严重后果,日方要承担全部责任.
