After silk-shafting, the silk cloth will be with the feeling of smooth and quality, as the pleats of which left from the pretreatment and dyeing process have been removed already.
(2) shaft-stamping(also called as "Ya Guang"): to roll up the silk outside the shaft, put the shaft onto the concave but smooth holding-stone while putting the stamping-stone(traditionally called as shoe-shaped stone ingot), and let the stampingman stands on the both sides of the shoe-shaped stone ingot with both hands holding the bamboo stick for support, both Feet shaking the stone ingot to rolling and stamping the silk over and over.
As the stone ingot is over seven hundreds Jin(about 350kgs) and the holding-stone is upto eight hundreds Jin(about 400kgs) already, by adding the maker's weight, the silk texture becomes very tighten and shiny.
