Dear Mom and Dad,
The first half of the semester is almost gone and we are busy preparing for the coming mid-term examinations.I'm sure I'll do well because I've studied hard and have gained a good command of the subjects I have studied.But the biggest gain is that I've learned to organize myself and my studies.When I was in middle school,I was not a disciplined student; I did what I liked best and did not pay much attention to my lessons until exam time,because passing the exams wasn't such a big deal for me then.But now things are different.What the teachers talk about in class is not so easy to grasp unless you have read the assignments very carefully beforehand.So I have learned to plan my time and get everything done according to schedule.I dare say I'm as good as any of my classmates except in one area – English.
English has been giving me the hardest time.From the very beginning,our English teacher explains everything in English.As we didn't have much listening practice in high school,I had and still have difficulty understanding her lectures.What's more,she asks us to recite the texts.As you well know,I'm not good at memorizing things.So now I devote almost all my free time to learning English.But don't worry,my teacher says I'm making progress,and in no time I'll be able to catch up with the others.
