It seems that televisions provide us an efficient and effective channel for us to realize the society which we live in,and a considerable number of people believe that advantages of television carries more weight than those of newspaper.To be honest,I am an opponent of this view.Although television has its own advantages,newspaper offers some unique benefits.
For starters,newspapers are capable of giving us details.In other words,televisions can only tell us what and when events happened,but newspapers represent issues more deeply; newspapers always make several profound observations of such events.An excellent illustration of this advantage can be seen in the reports of global-warming.We can easily and quickly receive information about global-warming through TV news; for instance,we can know temperature has risen about 2 degrees in the past decades.However,through newspaper,we can know further; for instance,we can know how much carbon dioxide has been released,and how it will change our ecosystem and climate; even more,we can know how to prevent this process.Details support the vitality of newspaper.
What’s more,newspapers are sold almost every parts and all the time of the city,from colleges to shopping centers; from daytime to mid-night.Convenience is another important characteristic which televisions can not provide.Thinking about this,all the TV dramas have their own regular time,if you miss it,how could you do?However,newspapers do not have this drawback.Equally,televisions are not existed everywhere,but newspapers are spread more widely.
Admittedly,we can not ignore the advantages of television.With regard to the efficiency,televisions really did a good job,and this is because the printing processes of newspaper are a bit of time-consuming,but this can not write off the benefits of newspapers.
By the way of conclusion,while televisions are more efficient,newspapers offer their significant benefits in the ways of giving details and convenience.Compared with televisions,newspapers give us more information,and it is expected that newspapers will contribute to our society as well as it has done before.
