就像去年的《WALL-E》一样,《9》也讲了一个老掉牙的科幻故事,歌颂了一个早就成了废话的主题.事实上在这一点上本片还不如前者,至少前面那个机器人很可爱,整个故事也坳得很圆.而这个片子连这一点都做不到.从种种迹象来看（时长、情节）,这个所谓的长片其实只是之前那个短片的加长版,所以看看原来的短片可能更能明白这个片子的本源.那个短片的故事可以讲就是导演心中的一个概念,那个概念是什么可能他自己也不一定能说明白.一个人冲破艰险到达了一个终点,而那个终点是一个宗教仪式,众人一起升天.再回想到长片中,当那个蜘蛛精红眼机器人复活时,它披着一面深红色底的大旗,结合那个氛围,我们很容易就能想到纳粹的旗帜,再加上那个残害科学家的军官的形象,以及四处的骨骸,还有一下子杀了所有人的毒气弹（原子弹）,这个故事的主题就非常清楚了：人类如此自相残杀,只会把自己引向毁灭,而拯救的办法,就是回归人性,将那个科学家的灵魂合九为一,人性的灵魂化作雨水,使大地获得了新生.注意,那个科学家到底是谁?不就是造了那九个（机器）人的上帝嘛!（我还困惑的是为什么只有五个人升天了?那岂不是只有九分之五的人性而已?不过反正这个片子早就已经放弃了把故事讲圆这件事了,追究这个也没什么意义.）
