在那一天人们欢聚一堂.春节通常是在每年的二月份,有时是在一月份.在那天,家家户户会贴上代表幸运的春联,放爆竹,还要吃饺子呢!除夕夜那天,就像圣诞节前夕那天,家家户户聚在一起吃年夜饭,祝福彼此,并聊聊对新的一年的期望.小孩子呢收到压岁钱作为新年的一份礼物!

Hi, the Chinese New Year is coming, but do you know which day is Chinese New Year? I know it is February 3, 2011.
In fact, Chinese New Year should be call “Spring Festival” or call “Chun Jie<春(chūn)节(jié)>” in China. The Chinese New Year is the first day of the first month in the lunar calendar. And the night before the Spring Festival called “chuxi”<除(chú)夕(xī)>.
① On the day of the Chinese New Year, peoples will light the firecracker and maybe burn fire. Do you know why? I can tell you. Long time ago, there is an monster called “nian”<年(nián)，年(nián)兽(shòu)> it always stay in a mountain till “chuxi”. On the “chuxi”, it will go to a village to eat peoples and their animals. Peoples are very afraid of “nian”, but nobody knows how to fight with it, it’s so strong that nobody can even hit it.
Another “chuxi”’s came, everyone was escaping from the village, none of them had seen a old man come to here.Only an old lady led him into her house and give him a bowl of dumpling.Then the old man tell the lady: “Don’t afraid of the “nian”. It fears the red things and the big noise. You need to wear red cloths, light the red candle, and make some firecracker.”
Just as they finished the firecrackers, the “nian” comes. It roars and roars. But suddenly a red light just shot straight into its eyes, it has been frightened: “Oh, my eyes! What’s that?” then, it heard a very big noise, and it run away as fast as it can.
Now peoples know how to get rid of “nian”, so every “chuxi”, peoples will light the firecrackers, paste the antithetical, stick the good fortune character and stay awake all night.

There are many traditional festivals in China,and i like Chinese Newyear very much.because during the Chinese newyear,we can get pocket money from our parents and relatives.we also can eat a lot of sweets,biscuits and oranges for the big day.before the Chinese new year,the family will went around the shopping centres there and buy clothes for each member of the family.on the eve of the Chinese eve,the family will do the cleaning of the house.we have to clean the house before the actual day as it was considered unlucky to clean the house on the day itself.on the eve of the Chinese new year,the family will have a reunion dinner.mother will cook special dishes for the family.it was the best home-cooked meal of the year.it is the most exciting fastival in my mind.翻译:中国有很多传统的节日，我最喜欢春节了，因为春节我们可以向我们的父母亲戚拿利是，春节的时候我们可以吃很多很多的糖果，饼干和橙子。在春节之前，家里的人会去购物，去给家里的每个人添新衣服。在除夕那天，家里的人在清洁房子，因为如果不清洁房子的话会被看作为不吉利。在除夕那天，家里的人会一起知晚饭庆团员，妈妈会煮很多好菜给我们吃，那是一年中最丰盛的晚餐。我想，新年是最刺激

Will Christmas Replace the Spring Festival？
Christmas arouses increasing attention year by year in China. Christmas cards become popular with students. People hold Christmas parties and exchange Christmas girts. A lot or TV and radio programs about Christmas are on. Meanwhile the Spring Festival is less appealing （有吸引力的）to youngsters. Thus some people wonder whether Christmas will replace the Spring Festival.
This worry is fairly unnecessary. Why ？ One reason lies that Christmas only affects Christians，college students and joint-venture （合资企业）workers. Another reason is that Christmas is mostly celebrated in cities. Few people in countryside show extreme interest in this exotic（带有异国情调的） festival. By contrast，the Spring Festival is the most influential traditional festival in every family.
I think，it is natural that with increasing exchanges with the West，a lot of Western holidays have been gradually introduced into China. For us Chinese we should never neglect or even discard our own traditional festivals. For centuries Chinese have observed this traditional holiday to welcome the beginning of a new year. And we will treasure the Spring Festival forever

Most companies, shops, school, and government offices are closed during that time. People prepare for New Year's Day from late December. First, people spend a few days to clean their houses completely. Some families then put up some new painting from November to be sent in January. 关于春节的英语作文（The Spring Festival）
The Spring Festival, Chinese New Year,is the most important festival for all of us. All family members get together on New Year'Eve to have a big meal.At the same time, everyone celebrates to each other.At about 12 o'clock,some parents and children light crackers.The whole sky is lighted brightly. We may watch the fireworks excitedly.How busy it is!
On the first early moring of one year, many senior citizen get up early and they stick the reversed Fu or hang some couplets on the front door. Some house's windows are sticked on red paper cutlings.
The Chinese New Year lasts fifteen days. So during the fifteen days, we always visit our relatives from door to door. At that time, children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents,grandparents, uncles, aunts and so on. The last day of the Chinese New Year is another festival. It names the Lantern Festival.
So the Chinese New Year comes to the end.

Thus some people wonder whether Christmas will replace the Spring Festival.
New Year Party
On New Year's Eve，our class had a party. The atmosphere was good. It was out of the ordinary from the very begining. The boy student from one bedroom gave an unusual performance. We saw a boy named Li Xinmin turn off all the lights in a sudden snap. Then with three resounding（响亮的） crow of a cock echoing in the hall，the hall was again brightly lit in a snap.
Then，the representative of the bedroom Zhu Guozhang asked us to guess a line of a poem related to the above situation. He added that Li Xinmin alone was born in the year of the dog and the other three were all born in the year of the chicken. They left us all in confusion. And it was our monitor who was quickwitted（机智的）. He shouted our， "The day breaks as the cock crows three times at dawn." The hall After that，they had another item. This time Li Xinmin was placed in the middle of the circle. While he was standing there，the other three stood around him，each bowing down to him at an angle of 120 degrees. It was an idiom.
