英语上不一定要时态一致!得根据具体情形.同一个句子都不一定要时态一致,例如：I know he was on hospital我（现在）不知道他（过去）已经住院了.前面是一般现在时,后面是一般过去式.
我个人认为网友2 I know he was on hospital 应译为“我知道（现在）他在住院（过去）”,不知对否,如不对,如何译或是如何理解?

这个例子和上文的例子是不一样的.
英语语法是这样规定的：
1）如果主句是一般现在时,则其宾语从句该用什么时态就用什么时态.
所以会出现主句用一般现在时know,而从句用一般过去时was on hospital.
2）而如果主句时一般过去时,则其宾语从句一般要和主句时态保持一致.
如：I knew he had been abroad.
当然也会有例外,如：He said yesterday knowledge is power.
