With the rapid development of network technology,network management turns to be more and more important.The article give a simple introduction of SNMP protocol,carries out system structure、function design of network management working station and key techonology thereinto.It stresses on the realization of SNMP network management primitive,solves the key technology of data collection within SNMP agent MIB,provides network information for the network management application programme of upper level,all the network management application programme are based on this.The article designes the function to be finished in protocol communication module,it will realize the basic operation in SNMP including GetRequest、GetNextRequest、GetBulkRequest、SetRequest、GetResponse、Trap.SNMP is mainly consists of SMI(system management instruction)、MIB (management information basement) and SNMP protocol.SMI provides the normal frame of definition for management object.MIB is the structure aggregation of all the supervisee that maintained by equipment.SNMP protocol consists of SNMP operation、format of SNMP information and how to realize information interchange between application programme and equipment.SNMP takes the agent/management station model to process the network management.To realize the network management,a network management station must be set up and execute the collection and analysis of the information in MIB through SNMP primitive.The article studies the data collection of SNMP agent MIB in detail,discussed the way to go along protocol communication and get data between network management station and SNMP agent sufficiently,and lay the first stone for the specific realization of modules like failure management、configuration management、performance management of SNMP network.
