When I was a little girl,I liked watching fireworks very much .My cousin was 5 years older than me and he loved fireworks,too .Sometimes,he played with them and I watched around him.They were really attractive to me.
It was the evening before the Spring Festival when I went to visit my aunt with my parents .My grandparents were there,too.We got together and had a big meal.People set off firecrackers everywhere.I liked the festival very much,because I could have yummy food and wear new clothes .I could also get some money from my parents,grandparents,uncles,aunts and so on.This kind of money was given to children for good luck.Still the most wonderful thing was to watch the fireworks.
There was an Irrigation ditch behind my aunt’s house,and we decided to set off fireworks around the ditch.My cousin was really good at fireworks.Many fireworks flied up to the sky and made the black evening sky colorful.Some of them looked like big flowers grown in the sky,some of them were rings of light flying through the fields,and some of them looked like umbrellas jumping out from clouds.I looked up at the fireworks and didn’t notice the ground under my feet.I felt as though the fireworks would fall on my face,actually they were still far away.But I couldn’t help stepping backwards.Suddenly,I felt there was no gravity for about half a second,and then I was on the bottom of the ditch.Within a second,the icy water went through my clothes and my shoes and reached my skin.I didn’t know anything but felt terrible at that moment.Though my cousin dragged me out as quickly as possible,I still caught a cold.Then I had to spend the Spring Festival at home.
After that I learned one lesson—always keep an eye on the ground under my feet,no matter how attractive it is in the sky.
