The image Pound creates in this poem is the association of flowers with people's faces. In the dim light of the station people's faces look so lovely that the poet compares them to the wet flowers after a certain rain. Actually the image has something to do with the classic poetry of Chinese Tang Dynasty. Pound had read and translated many classic Chinese poems and was much interested in the images they created. One of the images was just the image of flowers after the rain. So in this poem we can find the trace of the image created in the classic Chinese poetry. That means the reading and translation of the Chinese poems helped Pound write the imagist poems.
