II. 用so…that, such … that, too … to或enough to将所给句子合并成一句.1. They are careless people. They may causea fire.________________________________________________________________2. The big stone is rolling fast. The manmay get in
They are such careless people that (they) may cause a fire.(前后主语一直,后者主语可省略)
The big stone is rolling so fast that the man may get injured.
I was too afraid to move.
Peter is only four years old.He is too young to go out by himself.(four years old前面加了only,想表达的就是young)
My grandmother is so deaf that she doesn't hear what people say.
so...that和such...that的区别在于前者修饰的是形容词,后者修饰的是名词
too...to...翻译成“太.以至于.”,一般用在否定意义的句子里
enough to 意思和too...to...差不多,但多用于肯定意义的句子里
