A convincing argument can be made that,private cars carry considerable drawbacks.To begin with,pollution created by private cars has detrimental effects on human health.To illustrate,people living in large cities suffer from polluted air,which has rendered damages on breathing organs,especially for adolescents.Moreover,the traffic system in many large cities is on the edge of meltdown and the increase of private cars aggregates traffic stress.For example,a host of Beijing citizens complain that the traffic congestion has doubled the time they spend in traffic since private cars rapidly increased.Besides,they have to frequently delay their appointments due to traffic problems.Last but not least,the increase of private cars is attended by the increase of car accidents.There is no denying that some private car drivers do not have qualified driving skills and they put the lives of them of others at risk.
Despite this,private cars have brought various benefits.In the first place,it seems that private cars may enhance the relationship between family members.To illustrate,private cars create private space which could be shared with family members so that it may satisfy the communication requirement of family.In the second place,private cars contribute economic benefits to our nations.A recent research conducted by national bureau of statistic of China revealed that automobile industry directly contributed 30 billion RMB to the GDP last year.
In the final analysis,I concede that the proliferation of private cars does not come without adverse effects.However,the benefits created by private cars far outweigh the disadvantages.Overall,I am convinced that we should further promote development of private cars and meanwhile try to eliminate detrimental effects.
