Over the 30 years since the reform and opening up, the waterproof industry of China has grown from scratch, and grown better and better. At present, the waterproof industry in our country has developed a complete system including different levels of waterproof materials with various founctions like SBS and APP modified asphalt waterproofing materials, polymer waterproofing materials, waterproofing coating, rigid seepage control and plugging materials. Besides, we have formed a system of materials, production, equipment manufacturing, waterproof design, professional construction, teaching research, management network. However, compared to developed countries, we still lag behind in product quality, application of technology, market growth, especially in high quality products, which only take only a small part of overall products. The whole industry is not very advanced. These all require our continuous efforts in the new century.
THis paper make a survey of the development trend of waterproofing in the future and our problems in waterproofing at present, aiming at analysing the problems in order to summarize suitable solutions and propose some methods.
