you have just arrived in the city where you are going to spend two years for your Master's degree. You have a lot of preparation to do before the new term start, but you don't know how to go around the city. A friend you have newly acquainted offered you guidance and help you through difficulites. Write a letter to express your thanks.
Dear Sue,
I am writing to express my sincere thanks to you for assisting me to be prepared for my new terms.
As you know, the city of Ottawa, which I will spend my next two years here for my Master's degree, is a complete unfamiliar city to me since this is my first vist here. I felt a little bit dazed at first. If it hadn't been your assistance, offering me the guidance and backing me up, I would not have had everything settled right before my new start.
I moved into my new domitory and shared it with another two local students here. The technician from Bell has set up my internet modem and router. Everything now works just fine. I think I am now prepared for the new beginning. By the way, thanks to the guidance you offered, I had a short tour to Parliament Hill yeasterday by taking a bus. I know there so many other famous palce in this city, for example, the National Gallery of Canada and the National Museum, that I have not got a chance to visit, however, they are definately on my "Must-Visit" list.
Anyway, you are more than helpful to me. I really appreciate that. Please accept my truehearted thanks again.
